How often do you eat out? When you do, is it fast food or a sit-down restaurant? How many restaurants are in your town? Since I started working full-time and work overtime, we eat out more and usually eat at a sit-down restaurant. I did not realize how similar these restaurants are until I started eating out. A fried chicken salad at one place pretty much tastes like one at another. I ate at a Logans for the first time today. I had heard about the peanut shells on the floor. Maybe it was because it was soo early in the day, but there wasn’t that many peanut hulls in the floor. I guess I was expecting to wade through a pile of hulls, so it was a nice surprise to find I could actually see the floor. The food was ok. The server was extremely attentive, which got a little nerve racking after a while. Don’t get me wrong, I like when the server brings refills on drinks without being told, but I do not want the server camping out at my table. Right now my husband and I are resting from our big lunch before we go out to mow the yard. I have several things to do today and hope to get them all done.
This Saturday, my youngest daughter will be graduating from high school. Actually, she finished high school last December and will walk across “the stage” to get her diploma. She has already finished her first semester of college. Many people are sad when their children leave the nest. Many are happy. I have mixed emotions about it. First off, my children have not left the nest yet. The attend college locally and still live at home. They both take a full load of classes, 15 – 17 credit hours each. They are involved with church activities. They are busy. We give them an allowance in which they are to be good stewards of. They do their own laundry. They help out with chores around the house. It is a comfortable relationship in that I see them, but we are not in each other’s faces all the time. I know they day will come when they will leave. Permanently. And I will be sad, but life goes on. Is their any thing in your life that you have mixed emotions about?

Do you have hobby? Are you really talented at something? If you are, is it a talent for the greater good, such as medical research or some other scientific endeavor? Or are you good at something that just brings your satisfaction. Me? I like spider solitaire. When I was pregnant with my oldest child, I got addicted to solitaire. This was before home PCs, so I had to use actual cards! Go figure. My laptop and desktop computers both have solitaire on them. I also have Antics Solitaire on both computers. I like to keep my win percentages above 75%, which can be a challenge. I also like crossword puzzles. I am not so good at these, but with my DHs help, I can usually get one solved. What do you like to do? Are you really good at it? Do you strive to improve or do you give up at the slightest challenge?

What size does a kitten/cat have to be to be considered “big”? We have this ongoing argument with our daughter about our new addition, Mrs. Quigley. Two in the family thinks she is fat, one thinks she is not, and one says she is not fat now. That statement implies that she is on her way to fatness. Now, I do not condone obesity in animals. It is not healthy and really is not that cute. But our little kitten is very cute with her pudginess. She is not as active as she was when we first got her, but she is still playful. She is taking a nap with the Head Mister of the house right now. So, how big is big?

If you are reading this titilating blog, then I can assume you like to read. Do you read books, newspapers, magazines, toliet paper packages? Do you purchase books or go to the public library? If you purchase books, do you purchase on-line or at your favorite store? If you purchase on-line, do you only look up the book you are interested in or do you browse by the author and look at all titles? Do you shop with an on-line vendor that has recommendations? If so, do you view said recommendations? My answers to these questions are: Yes to all; purchase and go to library; on-line and favorite store; I browse by specific titles and by the author; and I also check out the recommendations. By the time I am finished, I feel a little lost; as though I have wandered off the path into the woods.

Today is my daughter’s birthday. She is 18! That makes me feel old. Some facts that I did not really think about when I gave birth to her on that cold Tuesday morning, 18 years ago:
- She will have to give permission for me to have access to her school records in college.
- Her medical records are off limits also.
- She would eventually move out. (Hasn’t happened yet, but I dread the day she leaves)
- What would she be like as an adult? Doctor? Lawyer? Mechanic? Engineer? Baker? Axe-murderer? (Just kidding on this one!)
I am very proud of her and pray she has a long life full of God’s many blessings. Happy Birthday, Pinkie (that was my nickname for you, Daddy called you Hank). We love you very much.

With only 10 days left in April, what kind of spring weather do you like? How about over-cast skys? Sunshine? Cool temps or hotter than a firecracker? Rain all day or rain showers off and on. Me? I like temps around 68-70ish degrees. I do not mind clouds or even rain. I do not like storms of any kind. Sunshine is great, but I really do not like hot weather. Or humid weather. When I lived at home, I liked walking in the woods in the middle of July. The air was cool and the trees provided adequate shade. I do not have woods where I live now and I miss it a little. My MIL always wanted a patch of woods on her place. She said she would like to plant wild flowers along the pathways. I think my daughter would like the wild flowers and she might like the woods part. Speaking of daughters, she and I did a little gardening over the weekend. She planted corn, carrots, and some other things. I covered her corn and planted an Easter lily. We are getting excited about our garden area. We are expanding the existing garden, planning an herb garden, and making plans to get another area ready to plant some things. I just realized I am always mentioning my daughter in my posts. I do have a son, 19 years old, college student, a find figure of a man, yes! He loves to write stories. I have encouraged him to get something on paper and send it off to a publisher. You never know when the idea you have scribbled in your composition book might be the next Gone with the Wind. I would like to write, but I am not very patient about the process. My book would go something like this: Once upon a time something happened, angst ensued, problem was solved, The End. Some authors say they hate the research part. I would like that part. It’s getting the characters, plot, and the whole thing together that intimidates me. If you could write about any subject, what would it be?
